When we developed Westend’s first product, our task seemed almost impossible at first: to create a small device with sound quality that surpasses that of any other similarly sized device on the market. The goal was actually to create a product with sound on par with the best larger speakers on the market.
To achieve our goal, we had to leave no stone unturned. We searched the world for the best inventions and experts and assembled a product from these parts and technologies, knowing that you can’t make a product from better parts. After that, we continued to develop the sound product and combined different technologies in a creative way. As always with inventions, the real breakthrough happened by accident. It was only much later that we realized what we had done. The sound quality exceeded all our expectations.
Hessu’s daughter stated that it was not HiFi but Extreme Fidelity. Sound reproduction that is absolutely extreme in quality and detail. Thus, WestendXFi Unbelievable was born.
Later, we developed new products with exactly the same principles: We looked for the best materials, the best technologies, the best software, etc. We made a prototype of the product and continued product development from there in a creative way. Our next product was the WestendXFi Concertmaster headphones . Tekniikan Maailma stated that they were ”the headphones you should take with you to a deserted island”.
The basic premise of XFi products is the best of the best. An extremely small audio product. We do not reveal the Secrets of Westend’s creative product development to anyone. However, we can reveal enough that we have been asked to patent our solution numerous times. However, we have not gone that route, because that would mean telling everyone what we have invented to improve the sound.
The Innovations we make are so radical and creative that none of our XFi products have been copied so far. At Westend, we have accumulated so much knowledge about different solutions that we are almost short of what to apply our technologies to next. Almost the most interesting development area we are currently developing is digital signal processing technologies that take audio reproduction to a whole new level. Every new WestendXFi product is worth its price, despite the fact that the price is never cheap.
